We’re growing again!
Since the beginning of Swedish Automotive in a small, one car shop back in 1985, servicing only Saabs and Volvos, through the growth of the shop into our current location in 2010 and welcoming Mini and Subaru vehicles, to offering service to all European vehicles in 2018, we are excited to announce our next step in 2025 – adding Tesla and other electric vehicles to our service lineup!
As the automotive industry has become increasingly technical and complicated, we need to constantly keep up with training and investments in tools to keep up as the industry evolves. One area where we have seen so much evolution and public interest is in Electric Vehicles, or EV’s
Hybrid vehicles (HEV’s) have been available in the United States since Toyota and Honda introduced them nearly 25 years ago. During that time, we also now have Hybrids now that can be plugged in and recharged (PHEV’s) and battery-only vehicles or Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV’s for short).
With the growing interest in EV’s and with both Federal and Local tax incentives to purchase them, sales have increased steadily and as a result, there is a rapidly growing need for shops to be equipped to service them and give consumers a choice and options on where to go for service and repairs.
That is why we are happy to announce that we have been attending training on Tesla vehicles and making investments in the tools needed to start providing service for them. As with any other vehicle, items that are covered under a factory warranty must still visit the manufacturers’ dealership for the repairs to be done for free, but Swedish Automotive will be offering service and repairs for Tesla, as well as other EV vehicles, in addition to the vehicles we currently service!
Even though Tesla and other EV vehicles do not have a traditional powertrain, they still share many of the same systems as ICE vehicles. Steering and suspension, tires and brakes, air conditioning and other types of maintenance and service are common.
We are looking forward to this next step in our 40-year history, here in West Seattle, and look forward to what the future continues to bring!
